Ok folks....boy has Tommy and his harem been busy shooting film after film... he just wrapped  up  one film -- then he was  on his way to the next one w/Nikita Denise!  Anyway, we just got done screening  AU16 and here's the low-down on the action:

Bands in R2: December Wolves, Akercocke, etc. The gals are Kristina Rose, Camryn Kiss, Devon, and Dana DeArmond.  The girls can get your blood flowing... then you can seal the deal listening to some crazy music... rock ON!

In recent years we've seen a huge increase in the number of promotional parties for our industry. While this is good for exposure, it has a good and side to it.
Again, good because it's exposure, and with DVD sales in decline, this is a good way for the general public to see the stars in person, and hopefully they'll buy their DVD's. But seriously, do these drunk guys and girls really run out the next day and buy a DVD because they saw their favorite star the night before at a club? Maybe yes, maybe no. Maybe we should set up a table and try selling them right there in the nightclub, LOL  We all know that probably couldn't happen. That's why exactly why we have events like AVN, Erotica LA, and Adultcon.
 
It's also a good point, because we need to blow off a little steam and let loose for a while, and have fun and mingle with the public. That's why Porn Star Karaoke at Sardo's has been such a huge success, and always will be.
 
Now, the down side to the constant promotional parties is that many are run by people who don't run these for any other reason than to make a quick buck off the images and appearances of adult film celebrities and personalities. They promise the moon, but usually don't deliver. Promises of booths and booze and guestlist comps are nothing but that, empty promises, that they usually don't provide once the talent gets there. Most of the talent in the industry is getting wise to these scams now, but only after they too have fallen prey to these "get a quick buck" guys. I won't mention names, but they know who they are. I've had several girls tell me about the horror stories about how some fly by night promoter has tried to "rip them off", " try to get with them", or "end up not deliver what they initially promised".
 
Now on the good end, there are good reliable promoters for parties and events out there; Brad Thomas, Jeff Mullin and Scott David, Mac Africa, Suk, Dave and Chris, Patrick, Bruce Bruce, Doug at DMK, even myself, if I can give myself a shameless plug, LOL
 
These are all seasoned promoters who deliver what they promise, and have years of experience working in not only mainstream, but adult events. They do their homework, and have solid working relationships with nightclub owners.
My advice to talent and companies wanting to do promotional parties, go ahead and do it, but;
Do your homework on a promoter first.
Find out who they've worked with before, and what kind of success record have they had with their events.
Make sure you get "everything" in writing first, so there's no questions about whom promised what afterwards if there's problems.
Get an "underwriter" or "sponsor" to cover the cost of a photo wall, red carpet, and flyers. But nowadays with the Internet a printed flyer is almost useless. A good flyer made for emails or My Space or your personal site postings are more than enough.
If they promise you a bottle and a booth, make sure you also talk to the owner for the nightclub/venue, and make sure this is cleared, and they know about this beforehand.
Get your guestlist in early, and bring a copy with you, just in case, to give the door person.
Make sure you talk with media and press yourself, and make sure the venue will allow press and media to come in and get coverage inside as well.
Get the names of any manager or owner of the venue for yourselves, just in case you need to contact them with any problems, or and hopefully everything goes really well, to thank them personally, "always a nice touch".
This is your career and your products and film release you want to promote, so make sure it's handled properly.
